Sankalp Swach Aahar SFV Thane

FSSAI’s Western Region hosted a large-scale training event, Swachha Aahar Sankalp, for over 350 street food vendors at Mangla Hall, Thane East. The event was graced by Hon’ble Union Minister of State, Shri Prataprao Jadhav, along with senior FSSAI officials including Regional Director
Ms. Pritee Chaudhary.

As part of FSSAI’s goal to train 2.5 million food handlers by 2025–26, the program has focused on food hygiene, safe handling, and contamination prevention. This initiative supports safer street food practices while preserving India’s vibrant food culture and empowering vendors through the FoSTaC training model.
 

Eat right school Sindhudurg

FoSTaC Training Held in Sindhudurg to Promote Food Safety.


On 19th January 2025, a successful FoSTaC (Food Safety Training and Certification) session was conducted at Sawantwadi Taluka in Sindhudurg, Maharashtra, under the Eat Right School initiative. Organized in collaboration with FSSAI West Region and the Department of Education, the training aimed to equip food handlers and vendors with essential knowledge on hygiene practices and food safety regulations.
 
 
 

Training Program for street food vendor – Buldhana

On January 12, 2025, FSSAI West Region organized Sankalp Swachha Aahar in Buldhana, Maharashtra, training over 1,500 street food vendors and SHG women on food safety and hygiene under the FoSTaC program.

Union MoS for Ayush and Health, Shri Prataprao Jadhav, along with Ms. Pritee Chaudhary, IRS , Regional director of FSSAI and other senior FSSAI officials, attended the event. The training focused on personal hygiene, safe food handling, and contamination prevention. Stalls showcased preservative-free homemade products, and food safety kits were distributed to promote clean, traditional Indian street food.

Celebration of World Food Day, Mumbai

On the occasion of World Food Day, the FSSAI Western Region Office celebrated the event at Ashram School Chirner in Uran, Navi Mumbai. The celebration featured a drawing competition, culminating in the distribution of prizes to the top five winners. Additionally, each student received drawing stationery and dry fruits, fostering both creativity and nourishment.

FSSAI Western Regional office conducted hands on training programs for street food vendors under the program of “Swach Aahar Sankalp” at Nagpur and mumbai, in presence of Shri.Prataprao Jadhav, Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare of India. More than 3000 Street food vendors enrolled in this training program .

FSSAI West Region conducted an important training session focused on food hygiene and safety for professionals in Goa's hotel industry. The session highlighted key practices for maintaining food safety and underscored the significance of food fortification, offering participants practical knowledge and valuable guidance to enhance their operations.
 
 
 

Tribal connect program at Aarey colony, Mumbai

On 24.07.24, FSSAI West Region, in partnership with the Ministry of Tribal Development, Government of Maharashtra, officially launched the TRIBAL CONNECT SCHEME. Designed as a strategic initiative, the program aims to improve livelihood opportunities and boost employability among tribal women. The launch event was honored by the presence of Dr. Vijaykumar Gavit, Minister for Tribal Development, along with key stakeholders such as Zomato and the Mumbai Dabbawalas, who are set to play a significant role in the successful implementation of the scheme.

World Food safety Day , Adivasi Pada Uran, Navi Mumbai

FSSAI West Region marked the celebration of World Food Safety Day in Raigad with enthusiastic participation from over 100 women and children. The event featured a range of activities focused on the themes of Eat Right, Eat Safe, and maintaining hygiene. Children also took part in various fun and educational competitions organized as part of the celebration.
 
 
 

Stakeholder consultation meeting, Mumabi WR Office

The FSSAI West Regional Office conducted a stakeholder consultation meeting as part of the ‘Tribal & SHG Connect Programme’, aimed at empowering tribal and Self Help Group (SHG) women to deliver safe food on a larger scale. A key component of the initiative is comprehensive food safety training, reinforcing the mission of promoting women’s empowerment through skill development and safe food practices.
 
 

Women's FBO Licensing Mela and Training on Licensing and Hygiene practices

The West Region Office of FSSAI organized a License Mela for Kandivali’s first all-women Clean Street Hub in Mumbai. Nearly 90 successful applicants from various Self Help Groups received guidance and support in submitting their registration applications, marking a significant step towards empowering women entrepreneurs and promoting safe food practices.

The Eat Right Mela, organized by FDA Goa at Ravindra Bhavan Margao in South Goa, featured a vibrant lineup of activities including healthy recipe demonstrations, a chef competition, and the felicitation of Food Business Operators (FBOs). The event also included an informative session on nutrition. In addition, FoSTaC training was conducted for Mid Day Meal suppliers, and Goa Medical College and Hospital was awarded the Eat Right Campus certificate for its commitment to food safety and nutrition.
 

Empowering food Handlers: FoSTaC Training, GOA and Delhi

FSSAI successfully conducted a comprehensive FoSTaC training session at Goa Bhawan in Delhi, aimed at enhancing knowledge and practices related to food safety and hygiene. A total of 22 food handlers participated in the session, gaining valuable insights into maintaining proper sanitation standards and ensuring the safe handling of food in their respective workplaces.
 
 

Walkathon and Millet Mela, Pimpalgaon Baswant and Dindori, Nashik

More than 4,000 participants took part in the Walkathon at K.K. Wagh Arts, Science and Commerce College in Pimpalgaon Baswant, Nashik, promoting fitness, environmental consciousness, and community engagement. The event was graced by Hon’ble Minister of State, Dr. Bharatippawar, who attended as the Chief Guest and presented awards to the winners of various competitions organized by the FSSAI West Region.
